Tamar Valley Community Apple Pressing Day

Apple Pressing at the Tamar Valley Centre, autumn 2011

Come and press your apples, to make juice for your friends and family, this Saturday, in the Tamar Valley.

Tamar Grow Local and the Tamar Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty team have joined forces this month to share an apple press with the local community, at the Tamar Valley Centre, near Gunnislake, between 10:00am and 3:00pm on Saturday 20th October.

Simon Platten, Tamar Grow Local project manager, says; “Any variety of apple can be juiced – but apples picked straight from the tree, free from bruising and holes, will give you the best quality juice”.

All are welcome to this FREE event, no need to book, unless you are planning to bring a lot of apples, in which case please call in advance.

Refreshments will be provided by Harrowbarrow & Metherell Community Orchard group. Donations would be welcome.

Please bring enough bottles; 1kg of apples produces approximately one 75cl bottle; we will endeavour to give you the juice from your own apples!

For further information, please contact Simon Platten, Tamar Grow Local, 07887 983143, or simon@tamargrowlocal.org
