Tamar Valley Centre – Now You See Us!

new signs_Tamar Valley CentreNew signs have recently been installed outside the Tamar Valley Centre, near Gunnislake, in readiness for the summer season.

Thanks to a grant from ‘Discover the Extraordinary’, an RDPE-funded Project for the Cornish Mining World Heritage Site, a welcome board and panel, introducing the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and Cornish Mining World Heritage Site to visitors, are now sited at the entrance to the Centre.

In today’s tranquillity, it’s hard to imagine the noise from over 100 mines that operated at the height of the Valley’s mining boom so we are delighted to be bringing these stories to life at the Tamar Valley Centre”.

The Tamar Valley Centre, just 5 minutes’ walk from Gunnislake Train Station, is open Monday-Friday, 10:00am – 4:00pm. A selection of free leaflets and other information is available to help you make the most of your time in the Tamar Valley AONB – discover scenic walking routes, choose a tea room to tempt your tastebuds, join in with one of many events and activities, or take a trip along the pretty Tamar Valley Line. Local books and small gifts are also available to buy.

If you are planning an event or exhibition, why not give the Tamar Valley Centre a call? With its large, light and welcoming exhibition area and meeting room, the Centre can accommodate a range of events at competitive rates. Don’t miss Peninsular Imaging, an exhibition of local photography inspired by the Tamar Valley landscape and surrounding area. Open daily from 20th – 28th July, 10am – 4pm. Call the Tamar Valley AONB team on 01822 835030 for further details.
