With just a few days to go until this summer’s Tamar Valley Bioblitz, The Garden House is gearing up for a day of wildlife fun, turning its beautiful gardens into Buzz, Nut & Newt Zones!

This FREE day out on Monday 1st September, is just the tonic for children to let off steam and enjoy an abundance of activities, before heading back to the classroom later in the week.

Join the Tamar Valley AONB team in yet another beautiful setting – The Garden House, Buckland Monachorum, between 10am and 4pm, to search for all that crawls, flutters, slithers & swims.

Recently confirmed activities include Minibeast Hunts, Bird Walks, Pond Life, Reptile Hunts, Magical Moths and looking for signs of dormice, voles & squirrels. Don’t miss the art competition – draw or paint your favourite minibeast for your chance to win a prize.

You don’t need to be an expert, as naturalists, scientists and volunteers will be on hand throughout the day to help you find and identify all forms of life within the gardens.

Join the AONB at this year’s Bioblitz, which has been made possible through the Helping Hands for Heritage project*. Activities will be running throughout the day, and a tour of the gardens by Head Gardener, Nick Howarth, will take place at 11:00am and 2:30pm. The Garden House Café will be open for lunches and refreshments.

Places are limited for this event, and advance booking is essential. Please book early at www.tamarvalley.org.uk/bioblitz or call the AONB team on 01822 835030.
