3-year project that ran during the mid-2000s, highlighting the links between protected landscapes and woodland. The project area included Tamar Valley AONB, South Devon AONB and Dartmoor National Park, and was one of only four national pilots in the UK.
- Tavistock Woodland Estate’s ‘Bradford Hutt’ system was acknowledged as a pioneering innovative project, focussing on soil conservation.
- A Sustainable Development Fund grant was awarded by the Tamar Valley AONB for a shared wood heat system for Gulworthy school and church.
- A Guide to Local Wood Products and Services was produced.
- ‘Local Goods from Local Woods’ exhibition held at Dartmoor’s Princetown Visitor Centre.
