The latest programmes of walks in the Tamar Valley, aimed at people who are looking to improve their health at a steady pace, are available now to pick up from local outlets or to view online.

Three different weekly walks take place in the Tamar Valley area every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. All are free; the walks are a great way to meet new people and explore your local area.

Walk & Talk: Saltash meets every Monday morning. The current programme includes walks around Forder, Antony Passage and Cargreen, as well as Seaton Valley, St Germans and new for 2016 the beautiful Plym Valley.

Walk & Talk: Tamar Valley on Wednesday mornings, explores Kit Hill, Cadsonbury, the Bere peninsula, plus a new walk along Tavistock Canal.

Walking for Health, every Thursday morning, offers a series of easy walks varying from 30- to 90-minute strolls. On each walk there will be two fully trained walk leaders, giving all the support and encouragement you’ll need if you’re just starting out, or getting back into shape after an illness or operation. Most walks begin at the Tamar Valley Centre, Drakewalls, near Gunnislake. New for this year are monthly themed walks, where walkers will learn more about the local area. Don’t miss Historic Buildings of Calstock on 28th January, Pre-history of Kit Hill on 25th February and Spring Flowers in the Danescombe Valley on 31st March.
