If you can do it outdoors, you can do it in our AONB – sustainably!

The Tamar Valley has something for everyone – from walking, cycling, horse riding along one of our recreational trails, to shopping, eating, sight-seeing and visiting historic houses and gardens.

You can also take a train along the Tamar Valley branch line to appreciate the beauty of this scenic journey from Plymouth, through the Bere peninsula, across the historical viaduct to Calstock and on to Gunnislake.

Have fun and enjoy exploring the Tamar Valley. Why not leave your car behind for a day and travel by public transport?

Our goal is to provide people with the opportunity to enjoy the Tamar Valley’s distinctive and protected landscape; this may take the form of a promoted walking route, or better information about existing rights of way or permissive paths. We need to help all sorts of people to access our landscape, for the benefits of their health and well being.  We are also aware of the contribution made by walking, cycling and horse-riding to the tourism economy.

It’s beautiful. It’s natural. It’s outstanding. Let’s explore!
