Watercolour waxcaps

29 October, 2021 @ 10:30 am - 12:00 pm

If you explore wooded and grassed areas in the early winter months, you will discover a whole world of beautiful living organisms known as fungi. Join artist / tutor Beth Morris to create spooky characters inspired by the waxy, gem-like, shiny cups of this attractive fungi family. We’ll be using mixed media, collage and water-colour paint to develop a set of characters based on the expressively named Earth Tongues, Crimson, and the Glutinous Wax-caps. You will also need to get your imaginative brains working to try and decide on the personality of Mr Hygrocybe Puniecea. Beth will demonstrate how to draw and paint the wax-caps, adding extra eerie and ghostly accessories fitting for the time of year. You will also learn to create a mind map in order to build your own Halloween story of these mysterious waxy creatures.

Online event via Zoom.
