Valley Volunteers: Tamar Community Trust Working Party – Tamar Trails

11 February, 2017 @ 10:30 am - 4:00 pm

Hedgelaying training – there is a short section of 6-year-old hazel shrubs alongside part of the Morwellham Railway Trail that we can learn and practice hedge laying skills with. They are growing too thickly and starting to obstruct part of the trail width so this is a prefect opportunity to improve the trail and learn or practice this skill. There are no thorn bushes, so hopefully no pricked fingers!

We shall be working with various handtools, using safe cutting techniques and discussing different styles and techniques of hedgelaying.

Lunch and other refreshments provided. Wear sturdy footwear, gloves and be prepared for the weather on the day. All tools and training provided. If you have a favourite pruning saw, hand axe/billhook or loppers feel free to bring them.

So that we have an idea of numbers, please let me know if you are coming along.

For further information and to register your interest, please contact Dave Readman – 07410 411440, dreadman@tamarvalley.org.uk
