Introduction to Coppicing, a Practical One Day Course

£65Hands-on practical course, based within a coppice woodland on the outskirts of Callington. We will look at restoring a neglected and over stood coppice woodland. The course includes preparation of the work area, tool use and care, coppice restoration, working methods, material selection and storage. We will be discussing;
Developing a coppice rotation, Felling and processing, Understanding stool density, Layering & planting, Pest control, Coppicing for economic and wildlife benefit.
All tools, equipment, tea, coffee & biscuits provided.
Directions to woodland will be given when booking.
