Buckland Community Orchard Walk – Naturally Healthy May

It’s Naturally Healthy May, and what better time to explore the beautiful Tamar Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty?
We hope you’ll join us on a walk, led by local botanist Martin Summers, to find out more about the folklore and medicinal uses of our hedgerow plants (supported by Active Devon).
Meet outside the Drake Manor Inn, Buckland Monachorum, for a leisurely walk along the lanes to the local community orchard, planted with unusual apple varieties. On the way, we will look at many of the hedgerow foraging plants, their medicinal uses & folklore explained. After visiting the orchard, a great change of scenery briefly on the moorland near Buckland Monachorum passing an old Iron Age fort before returning to the village.
