A weekly donations café has been running at the Tamar Valley Centre, Drakewalls, since the beginning of the year, and has so far welcomed 127 visitors.
The café opens every Thursday morning, 10am – 1pm, offering tea, coffee and biscuits. Everyone is welcome, including well-behaved dogs, and has provided a well-earned post-walk stop for Walking for Health walkers who generally finish their walks at the Centre.
All proceeds go to Tamar TLC, who raise, manage and distribute funds for the benefit of the Tamar Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Due to the success of the café, more volunteers are needed.
Coralie Barrow, Development Officer for the Tamar Valley AONB, says: “If you think you may be able to help, even if it’s only once a month, we would love to hear from you. It’s a great way to meet new people in a small, friendly environment”.
Drawn to the Valley artists will be hosting their much-awaited Spring Exhibition ‘Journeys of the River’ from 30thMarch – 7thApril, so Thursday 4thApril would be a great time to try the café for the first time, if you haven’t yet called in. (Please note: the café won’t be open on 28thMarch, due the artists setting up their work).
