Flying Sculpture & Willow Weaving Workshops

A new sculpture has been installed at the Tamar Valley Centre.  Crafted by talented South-West artist, Serena de la Hey, the piece occupies a lofty position above the main atrium.   Having worked all over the world on a range of projects, Serena is best known for the Willow Man, a 12-metre sculpture next to the M5 motorway, near Bridgwater in Somerset. The 'flying sculpture' is made from willow, with copper sheeting to reflect a part of the Valley's industrial heritage.

Willow Weaving Weekend Workshops - Saturday 27th & Sunday 28th March

Make your own wetland wildlife sculpture with Serena de la Hey, or take home your very own basket made from willow grown in the Tamar Valley with local basketmaker, Ian Strugnell.

This weekend course will be held at the Tamar Valley Centre, Drakewalls, near Gunnislake, on 27th & 28th March.  More details will be announced soon.  To register your interest, please contact Fran Walker at the Tamar Valley AONB office, fwalker@tamarvalley.org.uk or 01822 835030.
