Trailmakers volunteer day
5 January, 2016 @ 10:30 am - 4:00 pm
Welcome to 2016!
Meet at: Tamar Trails car park (Tree Surfers) near Gulworthy, just off the Gunnislake to Tavistock road (A390). Satnav postcode: PL19 8JE.
Surfacing, seating and safety: On our last date of 2015 we achieved so many things: a new oak bench on the Sheepridge Trail, with improvements to the stepping logs and drainage there, then on to Wheal Russell wheel pit for more drainage and cutting back encroaching young trees.
Now we need to fit the last bench and to maintain the safety fence at Morwell Rock. We also hope to improve the surface and drainage of the car park at the Trails Centre before the visitor numbers start to increase in the spring. We shall be using the Trail truck to move tools and materials but may need to walk a short way for some sections.
We will have all the necessary tools and training will be provided in their use.
Hot soup, real coffee and other refreshments provided. Wear sturdy footwear, gloves and be prepared for the weather on the day!
So that we have an idea of numbers, please let us know if you are coming along: email firstname.lastname@example.org or call the TVAONB office on 01822 835030. The day will be lead by Dave Readman on behalf of the Tamar Community Trust.
