The Roman Fort at Calstock – illustrated talk

October 29 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

| £5

No-one was more surprised at the discovery of a Roman fort at Calstock than the archaeological team themselves. They had successfully identified a line of mediaeval silver smelting sites on the Bere Alston peninsula and quite reasonably expected to pick up the sequence on the Cornish bank where the Tamar took its great swerve at Calstock.

The story of their excavation, finds and interpretation is a fascinating one, and will be retold by the project leader Dr Chris Smart.

To enjoy this illustrated talk please visit Landulph Memorial Hall in Cargreen at 6.30pm on Sunday 29th October. Entry £5. Advance bookings not essential, but they and details of other interesting Landulph Festival events in October can be found on the Festival website www.landulphfestival.co.uk
