Discover a Hidden Gem on the Bere peninsula

packing shed

To link with the Helping Hands for Heritage packing shed survey, the Tamar Valley AONB team is joining forces with the Bere Ferrers Horticultural Society to open the doors of their garden store on Good Friday morning. Don’t miss this opportunity to step inside and unearth its history.

Lesley Strong, Project Officer, explains, “This building is one of the increasingly rare packing sheds that were once commonplace in the Bere peninsula”.

Lesley continues, “We’re really keen to see any old photographs of packing sheds that people may have, and to hear their stories. We would be particularly interested in any memories relating to the building and the High Cross Experimental Station”.

The packing shed (the Garden Store, Pentillie Road, Bere Alston), is open on Friday 25th March, drop in at a time to suit you between 10am – 1pm. For further details, please contact Lesley Strong at the Tamar Valley AONB team on 01822 835030 or email lstrong@tamarvalley.org.uk.
