If you enjoy exploring the Tamar Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, but wish you knew a little more about it, the Tamar Valley Heritage Guides could help…
Join Les Deering and Ann Marcer, Heritage Guides for the Tamar Valley area, over the next three months, on a series of walks throughout the Tamar Valley celebrating the very best of our area in Spring.
This season, Ann focuses her walks around Tamar Valley daffodils, with special Heralds of Spring walks around Bere Alston, Tuckermarsh and Weir Quay, to coincide with the National Lottery funded project that seeks to record and celebrate the historic varieties of daffodil in the Valley. Les, meanwhile, explores Calstock, Gunnislake and Cremyll. This season’s walks programme begins on Sunday 25th March.
Pick up your free walks programme from local outlets throughout the Tamar Valley area, or view a copy online – www.tamarvalley.org.uk. Please dress for the weather, wear appropriate footwear for walking and bring a drink. Be prepared for hills and muddy paths. Well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome.
There is no charge for the walks, but donations are welcome. All proceeds will help to keep the Tamar Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty special for all to enjoy. Booking is not essential, but would be appreciated. For further information, please contact the AONB office on 01822 835030.
If you would like one of our Heritage Guides to lead a walk for your family, local group or club, or to give a talk, please do get in touch – 01822 835030, firstname.lastname@example.org. Do let us know if there are other areas you would like to explore with the Heritage Guides, so we can tailor our summer programme to the interests of our walkers.
